Hit by Car and Trauma

Police Dog Driving CarWhen a pet like a cat or dog has been hit by a car, it should always be seen immediately by a veterinarian. Even if the victim is conscious and seemingly OK, there may be hidden damage. In addition to the physical exam, lab work and radiographs should be performed to rule out unseen damage. Also, your veterinarian will give anti-inflammatory and other medications to reduce pain and assist healing.

On evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, call Animal Emergency at 727-786-5755.
