When your pet is sick or injured, you do not have the luxury of waiting for your regular veterinarian to get back in the office. Our hospital is here to provide prompt care for your pet. We are here for you and your pet when your veterinarian is closed, as well as the weekends and holidays.
An emergency can strike your pet in a variety of ways. Perhaps your cat got bitten by a snake. Or, maybe your ferret won’t stop vomiting. Or, maybe your bird collapsed. Or, maybe your puppy decided to eat his weight in chocolate. No matter what the problem is, we offer full emergency and urgent care services just like a human emergency room.
Emergency pet needs
Just like a human being visiting an emergency room, animals may need medication to combat the symptoms of their ailments.
Our emergency facility is designed to treat practically any animal illness or injury during off hours- like in the middle of the night or on the weekends. Part of our dedication to your pet includes having a full-service pharmacy right here at our office, so your pet can get the treatment they need at any time.
Because everything is handled on-site, your pet can get what they need right away. We take pride in doing everything possible to keep your pet comfortable, safe and healthy- which includes the medication your loving pet needs, whether that is from our pharmacy or something you can pick up on your way home.
No matter what need your pet may have, Animal Emergency can help.
How do our emergency services work?
You don’t need an appointment to come in. But it is very helpful if you call us prior to your arrival so that we can be best prepared for your situation and give you directions. However, this is not mandatory. Just like a human emergency room, we see the animals that are in the most severe condition first, so we ask that you be patient if you have to wait.
We do not perform any routine procedures like vaccinations or de-worming in order to keep our facilities and doctors open and available for emergency cases.
When you first arrive, you will be asked to fill out paperwork that is similar to what you would fill out if you were taking a friend or family member to a human emergency room. By asking for things like a basic medical history, any allergies your pet suffers from, and a list of your pet’s current medications, that paperwork will be used to help diagnose and treat your pet. Then, once your pet is discharged, all of the paperwork will be sent to your regular veterinarian so that it can become a part of your pet’s permanent health records.
No matter what the emergency, you can count on us to help you through it.
